Enriching four weeks at National Institute of Design (N.I.D.), Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh with Communication design students ended on a beautiful screening note.
Students screened their four documentaries on last day, shared their experiences while making it, and answered questions from audience as well.
As a student of cinema, I learned along with my students filmmakers about the magic of cinema while inspiring them to create their documentary short films as a part of the course. We saw some beautiful classic and contemporary International as well as Indian documentary films. I got their fresh insight to my favorite films.
As a first-time teacher, I made the notes for each of the classes, but the magic happened when I could remember anecdotes of my favourite filmmakers and films as a part of their inquiry. We started discussing the possibilities that films and documentaries offer us.
As a part of course, the class made 4 documentary shorts of 8-10 min as a part of a group project along with individual exercises and explorations.
Sharing the happiness that I could inspire them to express their concerns, expressions and their version of reality in documentary form.
